Some people go for a walk on Sunday.

Others watch Formula 1.

We started with a mouse.

“The irony of it all, Pinky…”

A few minutes later, someone said “Moo.”

Not long after that, it became “Quack.”

Then “Pffff.”

And by then there was no way back.

Via skûtsje sailing in Langweer, a village full of “Hey! Hi! How are you?”, a fling, a cellar, a fifty-million-euro car collection, a John Deere, Meghan Trainor, the Müller organ in Haarlem, a fictional underground ESA system and a series of Excel formulas that would probably make even Microsoft open a support ticket, we eventually arrived at the discovery that the duck is not called Donald at all.

His name is Bram.

According to Bram, anyway.

That may be the finest thing about a Sunday afternoon.

Nothing has to come of it.

You do not have to solve a problem.

Sometimes a good conversation is enough.

You follow a thought, which leads to a memory, which turns into a joke, which ends up as a story. Halfway through, you wonder how on earth you got from a cellar to a church organ. And at that exact moment, you realise you have probably taken things a little too far.

Never mind.

That is part of irrassociation.

Irrassociation is not getting lost.
It is being curious enough to deliberately miss the turning once in a while.

And every now and then, it takes you somewhere you would never otherwise have reached.

For example, to the discovery that the duck is called Bram.

It was worth it.

At the end of the afternoon, Kashikiku OS ran its system check one last time.

✓ Excel engine
✓ Quack module
✓ Irrassociation module
✓ Art of living
✓ Coffee
SYSTEM READY.

Nothing more needed to be added.

The coffee was still warm.

Horsewei was still on the horizon.

And somewhere in an imaginary barn, a John Deere quietly waited for grass that would grow again by itself tomorrow.

A Sunday Afternoon Well Spent.

Sometimes that is enough.

Quack. 🦆
