“Where are those seven roll containers now?”
“In Rotterdam.”
“And where do they need to go?”
“Rotterdam.”
“When do they leave?”
“As soon as they are out of Rotterdam.”
“Why?”
“Otherwise they cannot arrive in Rotterdam.”
There was silence for two seconds.
“That’s deep.”
“No. That’s logistics.”
“Tea as well?”
“Please.”
“Sugar?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“I’ve heard enough sweet stories for one day.”
Some colleagues can say something with such a completely straight face that you first try to follow the logic and only then realise it has just travelled through Rotterdam and arrived back in Rotterdam.
That is not nonsense.
That is office humour.
And on days when the planning is complicated enough, one dry remark can release more tension than seven roll containers.
Where did they end up afterwards?
Probably in Rotterdam.
No one asked what was inside the roll containers, by the way. Some logistical circles are better left closed.
