De Automobilist looks at the relationship between people and cars without treating the car as the main subject.

A vehicle can say something about work, freedom, habit, pride or necessity. It can be a practical object, but also a private space that moves through public life.

The series is about that in-between area: the driver, the machine, the road and the small stories that become visible when they are photographed together.
