I am a photographer. But my work does not begin with the camera. It begins with attention: to people, to what is really happening and to the small things that give a life meaning. I photograph, write and build. Not to turn my life into art, but because my way of living sometimes produces art.

Guide prices
Working with Arie
A portrait or visual story starts with time and attention. These guide prices give a clear starting point before we discuss the shape of the work.
Ask for availability1.5 hour session, 3 finished digital images and 1 print 20x30 cm.
Half-day session, 8-10 finished digital images, 2 prints and room for several locations.
Profile image or storytelling on location, with 5+ images for own use.
Concept, several encounters and custom work in image and form.
2.5 hours focused on your question, including coffee and follow-up notes by email.
4 intensive hours with up to 6 participants, including lunch, model and location.
The hours no one sees
One hour of photography is rarely one hour of work.
A photograph often begins before the camera comes out of the bag. First there is contact, preparation and the calm needed for someone to stop performing for the camera. Afterwards the images are stored safely, selected and finished with attention.
For a wedding or visual story, a few visible hours often mean many more hours around them. Not because it has to be slow, but because I do not want to deliver everything that happens to be technically successful. I want the images to bring back how it felt.
So my fee is not only about the hours in which you see me walking around with a camera. It is about attention, experience and the hours no one sees. Until you look at the photographs again.
Prices include VAT and preparation. Travel outside Friesland by agreement. Campaign or national use requires a separate licence.
